The Best Reasons to Use a Recruiter in 2021.
Let’s face it, 2021 has been tough – and that’s putting it lightly. And, if you’ve been looking for work this year, there’s a high chance you’ve been unsuccessful, it’s been a more than stressful time.
Going into next year, we hope that things get easier in all aspects of life. Although we can’t change a lot of things, one of the things we can change is the level of success in finding work in 2021. If you’ve read the title of this blog, you won’t be surprised to discover that we suggest using a recruiter to find work in 2021!
So, without further ado, we start with:
It’s Their Job.
The bottom line and most to-the-point part of this list is that a recruiter’s job, should they be in the area of finding work for individuals, is to find work for you. That’s it.
Finding work can be difficult at the best of times, let alone when trying to do so between your daily tasks. It’s not so bad when you’re 16, living at home, and looking for your first job. But when you’ve got bills to pay, a schedule to keep, and more, you’ll probably want a bit of help finding work. That’s exactly where a recruiter or an agency can help/
It Saves You Time
If you’ve never tried job searching online, consider yourself lucky. For those of us who have, we know how much of a slog it can be.
One of the biggest gripes we hear about when online job hunting is the application process. With some jobs accepting a PDF of your CV and cover letter, whilst others want it all typed out manually. Some wanting both! It can be such a drag.
When using a recruiter or agency, you can kiss goodbye to this process… kind of. Of course, if both you AND your recruiter try to find work at the same time, you increase your chances of finding work. However, for those of you that struggle to find the time to apply for work, a recruiter can be the best option for you by far.
The situation gets better if you use a recruiter when trying to find work whilst you’re currently employed. Because the last thing you want to do after a 9-6 job is going through the draining job application process over and over again.
So, if you’re looking for work in 2021, and you’re not fully convinced by the idea of using a recruiter, think about all the time you’ll save. You can thank us later, in all the spare time you have!
They’ll Find Something for You.
I know what you’re thinking – “of course they’ll find something for me, it’s their job. You even highlighted that earlier.” And, to a degree, you’re right. However, you’re focusing on the wrong part of the sentence. Rather than focusing on the ‘they’ll find something’, focus on the ‘for you’. Still confused? Let us explain.
A recruiter will specialise in finding a role that you are suited to, combining your skills, experience, location, etc. Unlike when you search for a job online and you’re met with dozens of irrelevant, a recruiter will only put you forward for or suggest jobs that you’re suited for. Not only does this give you a better chance of landing a new job in 2021, but it also limits the number of unnecessary applications that go nowhere.
They Can Negotiate for You.
Any recruiter worth their salt will get to know you (at least to some degree) before finding you work. After all, their job is to find the best position possible for you/the business – it’d make no sense for them to just place you anywhere.
However, one of the biggest hurdles for many people is the negotiation process of a job application/interview. Benefits, perks, salary, all of these things must be ironed out before a candidate and business can agree, but many candidates struggle to understand their worth, or don’t know what’s acceptable to ask for. This is another huge benefit to using a recruiter, and one you should consider going into 2021 – the recruiter can do it for you.
Of course, this can vary from agency to agency, but most recruiters will help you to understand what sort of salary you can expect, as well as discuss with the business the possibility of you earning said amount. Ultimately, the recruiter will want to ensure you’re as happy as can be in your new role. So, why worry about the process of asking for a certain salary and benefits, when a recruiter can do this for you?
If you’re not convinced that a recruiter is the best way for you to find work next year, we’re not sure what else we can do to convince you. But we’ve got one more point we’re going to try.
They’re Your Safety Net.
After accepting a contract and starting a new job, you can expect your recruiter to stay in contact with you for some time. At least, a good one will.
This is due to the fact that starting a new job can be a daunting prospect for many people, which can lead to many people not voicing their concerns or issues in the first few months of starting. This is where the recruiter can help.
If you’ve got issues, questions, or queries that you feel you can’t ask your supervisor or boss, a recruiter may well have the answers for you. Failing that, they can take your issues to the appropriate person, attempting to get them sorted for you.
